Ord. 3
as regards the Bankruptcy Bill it was observed that its adoption would not bar assimilated legislation to that in force in the Straits Settlements. Section 6 (No. 1) authorizes the enactment of laws relating to naturalized British Subjects.
It was stated in Mr. Chamberlain's despatch No. 226 of 10th March 1899, that the inhabitants of the New Territories are British subjects during the period of lease.
And they are in the position of persons who have been naturalized. There is no question of naturalizing those who have already been naturalized.
